The effort to make sure that technologies are beneficial to society needs to be a globally collaborative one. Academia, with its broad access across different disciplines and cultures, can connect and build international research communities, collaborative networks and global consortia working together on AI ethics-related issues.
Yi Zeng, Professor at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, presented his research at the latest IEAI Speaker’s Series Event, which took place on April 29, 2021. Professor Zeng discussed the importance of defining the short-term, as well as long-term, challenges emerging in the field of AI Ethics research.
