With its Speaker Series, the TUM Institute for Ethics in Artificial Intelligence invites experts from all over the world to talk about ethics and governance of AI. These events serve as an important platform for sharing new research and exchanging knowledge.

The January session of the TUM IEAI Speaker Series will take place on 21 January 2021, 10 am (CET) vitually via Zoom. The topic of the session will be Trustworthy AI – what does it mean and how do you implement it?

We are pleased to announce that the speaker for this session is Andrea Martin, Leader IBM Watson Center Munich & Member of German Parliament Commission for AI. As leader of the IBM Watson Center in Munich and the EMEA Client Centers, Andrea Martin is responsible for the Centers’ scope, engagement model and market relevance. Before taking over this role, she was Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for IBM Germany, Austria and Switzerland and President, IBM Academy of Technology.

In her role, Andrea Martin uses her experience and global network from more than 25 years in the international services business, which also provides valuable input for her activities as an expert in the Commission for AI of the German Parliament (initiated in September 2018). Andrea Martin has started her career at IBM in 1992 after earning her Master’s degree (diploma) in Applied Mathematics from the University in Karlsruhe, Germany.
